The various major platforms on which African countries and China came together in 2018 are emblematic of the numerous milestones that have been achieved in the Africa-China relationship thus far. The PATT 5000-Mile Report explores various aspects of the current state of the increasingly complex and dynamic Africa-China relations. The report consists of two sections. The first is a feature section which reflects on the outcomes of the 2018 FOCAC Summit, particularly as they relate to people-to-people exchange between Africa and China and the second section covers key social, political, and economic trends in Africa and within the ambit of the Africa-China relationship.
